what i write:

academic books and papers, in the past few years mostly about politics as a mode of action or 'doing’.  i’ve also experimented with a digital text: doingpolitics.space. i’m now trying to work out how to write about photographs.

why i write:

because i need to, and because i can’t do much else.  the need is an existential one, though it’s obviously mixed up with institutional and professional obligations, too.  i feel bad if i don’t write, and usually a bit better if I do.  I feel much less need to publish, which i think is because i’m still looking for a form.
