what i write:

most of my published writing follows the formal expectations of medical journals, yet i much prefer more reflective ethnographic writing. fieldnotes – they seem the closest to the real experience, real encounters, which i then enjoy filling with context, reflections, narrative later. I write about neglected tropical diseases, circles of care, and human-nature connection.

why i write:

I write because it both opens and bridges a space in between the experience and the narrative; in between the writer and the reader; in between the potential and the realisation. Inhabiting this in-between space allows me to notice my thoughts, follow the red herrings and glimpses of light, experiment and make sense - or not. The most enjoyable writing happens when I don’t feel like I’m writing but let the story be written.
